United Kingdom records 10,633 new Covid-19 cases

Manitoba reported 93 new COVID-19 cases on Sunday, the lowest daily total since early April as positivity rates continued to fall.

Missouri counties account for 13 of the top 25 counties in the USA with the highest rate of new cases, The Times reported.

A spokesperson with Shared Health said a woman in her 60s who was sent out of province on May 26 and a man in his 70s who was moved on May 29 both died.

The country has a Covid death toll of 2,155.

There has now been a total of nine deaths of out-of-province patients since the first people were sent to Ontario in mid-May.

The number of new cases was significantly down from Saturday's 151, raising the total number of lab-confirmed cases in Manitoba to 55,331.

The next highest is the Southern Health region, with 15.

Out of the cases announced Sunday, 42 were identified in Winnipeg, 24 in the Southern Health region, 14 in Interlake-Eastern, eight in the Northern Health region and five in Prairie Mountain.

An outbreak at Boundary Trails Health Centre in Winkler is now over, the province said.

There were 1,316 coronavirus patients in hospital, as of Thursday, and 210 were on ventilation.

The seven-day average daily case count is now 136.

Manitoba now has 2,075 active cases and 52,205 people have recovered.

On Monday, the proportion of eligible Manitobans age 12 and up with at least one dose hit 71.2 per cent.

That same day, deputy chief provincial public health officer Dr.

He said the proportion of cases has risen in workplaces because the current health orders don't allow much to be open.

Vaccines are now given in 2 doses, at least 21 days apart.

However, a number of doctors have urged the province to pull back on that reopening plan, saying it does not take into account the highly contagious delta variant.

Cox said the department is encouraging vaccination and tracking COVID-19 variants. On Wednesday, the province's vaccine implementation task force announced just more than 300,000 doses of the Moderna vaccine were set to land in Manitoba by the end of June, which may offset a shortage of Pfizer, after the province was notified it would be receiving less than half of the shipments it had been expecting.

Due to Pfizer supply issues from the federal government, appointments are not generally available for youth (aged 12-17) at this time, until more Pfizer doses become available.
