3 dead - including child - following Florida supermarket shooting

THREE people are reportedly dead after a shooting in a Royal Palm Beach Publix on Thursday morning.

At least one suspect opened fire at a Royal Palm Beach Publix grocery store, killing one child and two adults, a man and a woman, according to the Palm Beach Sheriff's Office (PBSO).

At 11:39 am, lawmakers responded to the shooting and found that three people, including the shooter, had been shot dead. The sheriff's office said the shooter is one of deceased. She did not say whether it was the man or the woman who did the shooting, but said the shooter was among the three dead.

"Everyone was yelling, active shooter, shots fired, get out, get out", said Dr. Ron Glassman, who had just come out of a nearby bank. At a news conference Thursday afternoon, Barbera said detectives were speaking to witnesses and reviewing surveillance video as they tried to determine what led up to the shooting. Authorities have revealed that there are no active shooters.

Palm Beach County Commissioner Melissa McKinlay asked for thoughts and prayers for the victims. I just can't believe this has happened inside the store.

Publix has more than 1,200 stores across seven states in the Southeast U.S. Maria Brous, a Publix spokesperson, told USA TODAY the company was cooperating with local law enforcement.

Three people were killed at a store in Palm Beach County, according to police.

Royal Palm Beach is a middle-class suburb of 40,000 people, about 15 miles (24 km) inland from Palm Beach.
