Former aide says N.Y.’s governor kissed her, suggested strip poker

Bolan said she was told by staff members that Cuomo had a "crush" on her.

Personnel memos written in 2018, obtained by the AP, indicate Ms. Boylan resigned after she was confronted about complaints she belittled and yelled at her staff. "And if you dared to speak up, you would face consequences", the former aide wrote. At the time, she hadn't provided details, saying she had "no interest in speaking to journalists".

In the essay published Wednesday, Boylan accused the governor's people of trying to "smear" her through the release of personnel records appearing to show that members of the governor's office sought to remove her over a series of alleged incidents, including the bullying of three African-American women and attempts to order around colleagues who did not report to her. Boylan said she'd never seen the personnel file, and claimed that "the governor's loyalists called around town, asking about me".

The governor of NY is already facing pressure to resign over a separate scandal related to his alleged mishandling of the state's nursing homes during the coronavirus crisis, and his office's possible efforts to hide thousands of COVID-19 deaths. Boylan explained on the website: "As I got up to leave and walk toward an open door, he stepped in front of me and kissed me on the lips".

Though Andrew Cuomo's recent divorce from his wife Kerry Kennedy in 2015 was awful & sudden for all, and yet these recent allegations mean that he hasn't cheated on anyone, but is he guilty of these harassment claims? "I was in shock, but I kept walking", she said. "And any elected official who does not immediately call for his resignation is complicit in allowing a sexual predator to continue leading the great state of NY".

Mr. Cuomo has come under intense bipartisan criticism over his handling of the state's nursing homes during the coronavirus pandemic and his administration's reported intimidation of the lawmakers who criticize him. She first came forward with the allegations against Cuomo in a Twitter thread in December, saying that he harassed her and cultivated a "toxic" work environment that included making demeaning comments about women. The governor made the comment as he and Boylan sat facing each other, with his press aide to her right "and a state trooper behind us", according to her essay.

Boylan ran in the 2020 primary as a Democrat against U.S. Rep. Jerrold Nadler. Jerry Nadler and is a candidate for Manhattan borough president. His spokesman, Cailin Girouard, said: "Ms Boylan's claims of inappropriate behaviour are quite simply false". John Maggiore, Howard Zemsky, Dani Lever and Abbey Fashouer Collins were on all October 2017 flights she shared with the governor and have said the conversation did not happen, a statement from Girouard says.

Cuomo "didn't touch me", Boylan wrote, but she said the encounter made her deeply uncomfortable.

Earlier in December, Boylan had alleged in tweets that Cuomo repeatedly "abused his power' and sexually harassed her for years, when she was serving as the deputy secretary for economic development and special adviser to him".

A message allegedly from a top Cuomo aide in 2016 told Boylan she should look up Lisa Shields, suggesting she could be her "better looking sister". I told myself 'It's only words.' But that changed after a one-on-one briefing with the Governor to update him on economic and infrastructure projects. Cuomo announced his split from Lee in September 2019. She also said her relationships with high-ranking officials-mostly women in his senior team-grew hostile when she spoke up for herself.
