It's not the first time the "30 Rock" star has taken a break from Twitter.

The 62-year-old Oscar nominee announced on Monday morning that he'd be leaving the popular social media app "for now" following his wife Hilaria Baldwin's heritage scandal.

He concluded: "Goodbye for now". "Goodbye for now." Last month, Hilaria Baldwin admitted that she was a white woman born in Boston, Massachusetts, with the name Hillary Hayward-Thomas, but has defended her Spanish accent and connections to Spain, where her parents now live.

He also retweeted a handful of news articles and shared a quote from Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. before signing off.

After several people who claimed to have attended high school with Hilaria disputed her claims, she said on Instagram: "This is something I take very seriously, and for those who are asking - I'll reiterate my story, as I've done many times before".

He said: "There's things that have been said lately about people that I love, that I care about deeply, which are ridiculous".

Alec Baldwin has had enough of - how do you say? "Twitter is just a vast orchard of crap", he said. "So, that's not lost on me that I'm guilty of that as well", Alec added. Despite her talent agency listing her birthplace as Majorca, Spain on her profile, and Hilaria herself reportedly telling an interviewer in 2020 that she had "moved" from Spain to the 19 for college, Hilaria confessed via a December 27, 2020, Instagram video that she was born in Boston, Mass.

She was also slammed for her occasional Spanish accent, which has noticeably fluctuated over the years when she made appearances on TV.

Social media users also questioned whether she was born on the Spanish island of Mallorca.
