Lenovo’s sleek new AR glasses project 5 virtual monitors at once

The first edition is the more traditional of the two offerings with a tethered laptop or mobile workstation experience meant to power multiple, large virtual monitors in their field of view. Similar to the ThinkReality A6 that Lenovo showcased in 2019, these new augmented reality glasses are going to focus on delivering "new-age digital solutions for enterprises". Versatile, compact and comfortable, it fits like Think Reality A3 sunglasses and can be upgraded with industrial legal options for safe and long-term use.

While Lenovo hasn't announced a consumer price point yet or an exact release date, they're looking at mid-2021 for the release of the ThinkReality A3 smartglasses. The smart glasses are powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon XR1 SoC. ThinkReality A3 has an 8-megapixel camera that can provide 1080p videos, and dual fish-eye cameras for 'room-scale tracking'.

Lenovo has also confirmed that the PC edition of the ThinkReality A3 AR glasses are optimized to work well with the Lenovo ThinkPad series of laptops, powered by either an Intel or an AMD processor.

Lenovo ThinkReality A3 AR smart glasses were unveiled at CES 2021. As a result, it can be tethered to select Motorola smartphones for hands-free, AR-supported tasks in work environments. The platform provides remote support, guided workflows and 3D visualization for use in factory floors, laboratories, retail, hotel spaces and more, according to Lenovo. It is compatible with the ThinkReality software platform. With its cloud-agnostic ecosystem of hardware and software solutions, enterprises have more choices in building and deploying mixed reality technologies to improve business. As per Tech Crunch, the glasses follow the announcement of the "ThinkReality A6" head-mounted display, which offers a more traditional form factor (insofar as there is a traditional form factor for AR, I suppose). The Lenovo Mirage ™ VRS3 All-in-One Headsets are specifically designed for businesses and are ready to expand into global operations as they are the best solutions for training light capabilities. For advanced, high-performance mixed reality and virtual reality applications, Lenovo offers a portfolio of workstations certified to work with various Varjo XR/VR headsets and is a reseller of Varjo's human-eye resolution solutions.
