Deadpool joining MCU with upcoming R-rated 3rd film

It's official: "Deadpool" is joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe with the upcoming third film starring the foul-mouthed merc. Marvel Studios' captivating new series "WandaVision" stars Elizabeth Olsen and Paul Bettany, and marks the first series from Marvel Studios streaming exclusively on Disney+.

In the meantime, Marvel fans can tune into "WandaVision" when it premieres on Disney+ on Friday, Jan. 15.

Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige has revealed that Deadpool 3 will be part of the MCU.

Feige added that actor Ryan Reynolds, who will reprise the leading role, is also working with sisters Lizzie Molyneux-Loeglin and Wendy Molyneux on the script. It will not be [filming] this year. We've got a number of things we've already announced that we now have to make, but it's exciting for it to have begun.

Up until now, every MCU release has been PG-13 at worst, just sprinkling in a "shit" every now and again, much to the chagrin of Captain America ("Language!"). But what about Jessica Jones and Luke Cage?

Talking to Collider, Feige has shed some light on Deadpool's next film, saying that the script is now being written by Bob's Burgers scribes Lizzie Molyneux-Loeglin and Wendy Molyneux, with Reynolds overseeing it.

The first Deadpool movie arrived in 2016, and quickly became the highest-grossing R-rated movie of all time, making almost $782 million at the box office. As for Marvel's production timelines, Spider-Man 3, Eternals, and Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings are now in post-production. He also confirmed that Moon Knight as the two other MCU shows. The MCU has a very packed future ahead of it and it just got a little more f-ked up and insane with Deadpool.
