PM Narendra Modi launches RuPay card Phase-II in Bhutan

"Prime Ministers of India and Bhutan will virtually launch RuPay Card phase-2 in Bhutan on November 20". "India opened its space sector for private enterprises. This will promote capacity, innovation and skills".

In his speech via video conferencing, Modi spoke about the deep cooperating between the countries in a gamut of fields, including ISRO's preparation to launch Bhutanese satellites into space and BSNL's agreement with Bhutan regarding third worldwide internet gateway. "Like other Indians I have great love and friendship with Bhutan, when I meet you all its like meeting our own", Prime Minister told the Bhutanese audience on the occasion.

Modi also spoke about India and Bhutan's new space agreement.

The prime ministers of the two countries had jointly launched Phase-I of the project during Modi's state visit to Bhutan in August a year ago.

Mr Modi said, India stands with Bhutan in the hard hour of the COVID-19 pandemic. "From my visit to Bhutan, in the phase-1 of RuPay card launch, till now, 11,000 successful RuPay transactions have taken place in Bhutan".

Prime Minister Modi said, the phase two launching of RuPay card will boost the ties between the two countries.

Bhutanese PM lauded PM Modi for effectively tackling the pandemic India.

Modi made the remark at the virtual launch of the second phase of card payment service RuPay. "I'm sure India will come out much stronger from the pandemic". He said, the lead that India is taking in developing vaccines is a source of hope for all.
