Lana Del Rey creates homemade music video for latest song release

Del Rey announced that a follow-up for Norman Fucking Rockwell! was in the works late previous year, not too long after releasing the Grammy nominated LP. " album with adoring shout-outs to the people and places - and even the ecological peril - of her adopted hometown. I only mention it 'cause I'm ready to leave LA", she begins the song. We're not surprised that Lana Del Rey, whose summer was marked by a public breakup with a police officer and controversial comments on color artists, could use a change.

While gearing up for the release of her forthcoming album Chemtrails Over The Country Club, Lana Del Rey has shared a new track called "Let Me Love You Like a Woman".

But you can understand why she'd want to head somewhere more isolated. The audiobook version of her poetry collection came out in July. "Let me shine like a diamond / Let me be who I'm meant to be / Talk to me in poems and songs /Don't make me be bittersweet".

Musically, "Let Me Love You Like a Woman" does far less to shake up our idea of Lana Del Rey.

The video, with its clips recorded on a phone, includes cameos from Jack Antonoff, her dancers Ashley Rodriguez and Alexandria Kaye, and her brother Charlie.

In Interview magazine last month, the singer said she might be "going country" for "Chemtrails", though little about this song suggests that actually happened.

Update: Watch the new video below. It removes her previous romanticized descriptions of Los Angeles, and shifts toward a desire for inner growth and finding real love.
