Mitsubishi's refreshed 2022 Eclipse Cross to land in Canada early '21

Unfortunately, according to the press release, "there are no plans at this time" to launch the Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross PHEV in North America (U.S. and Canada in particular).

The new Eclipse Cross will hit markets in an ICE configuration starting in November for Australia and New Zealand, and in the first quarter of 2021 for the United States. It also brings some tweaks to the infotainment, and for markets outside the US a plug-in hybrid.

Eclipse Cross has many useful and practical features and technologies such as cruise control and anti-slip systems on slopes and bends, systems to measure air pressure in the wheels and systems to verify the technical condition of the engine and the main parts and display them to the driver, in addition to light and rain sensors, cameras and front distance sensors Rear, engine start and seat heating features remotely. The result is a vehicle that looks sleek, stable, upscale and unique.

The front end adopts an evolved version of Mitsubishi's signature Dynamic Shield design concept, expressing strength and security. Significant functional updates found at the rear are a redesigned hatch and rear window that lend a more sophisticated appearance to the SUV along with better rear visibility. The three-dimensional taillamps have been extended upwards and inwards to enhance the Cross's appearance of stability and width.

Inside, the modifications include a new atmosphere with black interior, silver details, light gray leather seats, and color-coordinated door cards. The interior is also revised in terms of trim and infotainment functions.

Mechanically, U.S. -spec Eclipse Cross models are unchanged.

Inside, Mitsubishi has matched upholstery colour to trim elements depending on specification, while a new 8.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto sits closer to the driver.

The newest addition of the PHEV powertrain optimizes energy efficiency and offers a smooth driving experience.

Like the old, the new Eclipse Cross come with Mitsubishi's 1.5L MIVEC direct injection 4-cylinder turbo engine.

MITSUBISHI MOTORS' S-AWC system delivers stable handling and precise control, giving drivers confidence to conquer on-road conditions easily. Together with enlarged rear suspension absorbers, the ECLIPSE CROSS exerts the performance of S-AWC and greatly enhances maneuverability.
