LaMelo Ball Signs With PUMA Hoops

"I am really excited to be joining the Puma family", Ball said, per ESPN's Nick DePaula.

Asked about the possibility of releasing his own sneaker, as he did with Big Baller Brand in 2017, Ball replied, "I guess you'll have to wait and see". He believes the brand is a ideal partner for him because they will allow him to be himself.

The 2020 NBA Draft is scheduled to take place on November 18.

The last time we left LaVar Ball, Big Baller Brand was becoming alive once again in February after a time frame in which the organization's site wasn't even operational, also a "F" from the Better Business Bureau and a supposed seven-figure theft by Ball's colleague. He wants to be completely authentic, whether that's playing basketball or showing off his personal style. Under BBB, Ball paraded his first signature shoe called the "MB1" at the age of 16.

As well as sporting Puma attire, including its basketball shoes, Ball will collaborate with the company to create further products.

Notably, LaMelo's older brother Lonzo, who now plays for the New Orleans Pelicans, also parted ways with the family-launched business in 2019 due to "some concerns of embezzlement from a longtime partner", CBS Sports reported.

Ball had previously been reported to be finalizing a deal with Puma back in August. So do young forwards R.J. Barrett of the Knicks and Michael Porter Jr. of the Nuggets.

"LaMelo's physical gifts and dynamic play on the court, as well as his unique sense of personal style, make him a natural fit for Puma", said Adam Petrick, Global Director of Brand and Marketing at Puma.

Ball most recently played 12 games in the Australian professional league. The sportswear brand made the official announcement today, roughly one month before the 2020 NBA Draft, as Ball is projected to be one of the first three picks.
