Starke County had six new cases for a new overall total of 346 and Pulaski County's total case count remained at 124.

The second smallest weekly increase in number but the largest by percentage was among people age 80 or older, with 11 cases reported this week, compared with four the previous week.

This week saw the beginning of several free COVID-19 testing events in the county, with testing available to anyone - regardless of symptoms.

Pettis County added 22 confirmed cases of COVID-19 Wednesday, bringing the total number of cases to 1,417, according to the Pettis County Health Center. That's 13 new cases since Monday.

The Gallatin City-County Health Department calculates the recovered case number as the number of total cases minus any active cases, current hospitalizations and deaths.

Three patients at Lawrence's hospital had COVID-19 on Thursday, one more than Wednesday. Five people have died from COVID-19 complications.

Gomez stated that "the Illinois Department of Public Health is now reporting that as of last night, 1,932 people in Illinois were reported to be in the hospital with COVID-19".
