Apple iOS 14.1 Golden Master released for developers

The iOS 14.1 should come pre-installed on the new iPhone 12 quartet and that's probably the reason why Apple did not offer beta versions to the developers. And now Spotify is joining in. In iOS 14.2, subtle changes make it easier to manage your entertainment without going all the way into Apple Music. The new iOS 14.2 beta will likely be in testing for some time as Apple works on releasing new iPhones, with the new iPhones debuting starting next Friday. As for smaller but interesting tweaks, iOS 14.2 brings a new icon for the Apple Watch app, with the watch now sporting one of Apple's new Solo Loop bands. Spotify are the latest app jumping on the new feature.

"The Spotify iOS widgets show up to five of the recently played artists, playlists, albums or podcasts", a Spotify spokesman said via email. "Users can tap the covers to go straight back to their content". The OTA update is coming out in a staged manner, and users on the beta programme can find it in the Install Updates section within the Settings app. So if you don't see them at first, try this.

We're looking forward to more third-party app developers implementing widgets on iPhone.

With the release of iOS 14, iPadOS 14, tvOS 14 and watchOS 7, the only operating system that was not officially released was macOS Big Sur.
