India Oxenberg Details NXIVM Cult Branding And Brainwashing

Seduced: Inside the NXIVM Cult, which premieres on Sunday, focuses on NXIVM survivor India Oxenberg, daughter of Dynasty actress Catherine Oxenberg, but also includes interviews with other women trying to make sense of it to find how they would "all end up" the clutches of a monster.

According to Variety, both Catherine and India Oxenberg attended an introductory executive success program (ESP) from NXIVM in 2011, when India was 19 and "looking for objective, meaning and a way to acquire certain skills needed to succeeding in her dreams after recently determining college was not right for her". "But it's actually something that I learned later on called parental alienation". Mack allegedly forced India to survive off a 500-calorie-a-day diet for a year, one witness testified last year, the New York Post reported at the time.

"That's years of grooming". It seems that Allison could have told her the brand stood for anything because India told PEOPLE that she was so involved in NXIVM, she had lost the ability to think for herself. "And these people were that, especially Keith Raniere".

India added, "If there's one thing he's intelligent at, it's that. And he's a predator". "This is the first time India Oxenberg will speak publicly about her experience with the cult's abuses as she retraces her steps, taking viewers deep inside the cult, meeting with former members, lawyers, therapists and cult analysts".

"It was a trap", she said. Really, women would have to answer to "masters" as "slaves" and recruit their own slaves to sexually exploit, traffick, and blackmail. That was the beginning - of continual sexual abuse. DOS, short for the bastardized Latin phrase "Dominus Obsequious Sororium", which supposedly stood for "Master Over Slave Women", was essentially a pyramid scheme of "masters" and "slaves" with Raniere serving as grandmaster.

Eventually, India worked her way to freedom after Catherine, 59, very vocally pleaded for support for her daughter.

"I had been targeted for recruitment by NXIVM, so the subject was of personal interest", Peck said. "Saying no meant hurting my family or hurting my friends. And I wasn't gonna do that".

Oxenberg also opens up about her gratitude for her mother's tireless efforts to remove her from the cult, crediting her for the reason she was able to escape relatively in-tact.

"The circumstances pushed us to our limits, to the point where you would think you were making the choice to get branded", India said. "We were starved. We were coerced". Catherine's daughter is sharing her story in much more detail in the upcoming STARZ four-part docuseries, Seduced: Inside the Nxivm Cult, which starts airing October 18 at 9 p.m.

"I had two women holding my hands and my feet so I wouldn't convulse", India told the magazine. One of the most harrowing details revealed about DOS was the branding - DOS members would have NXIVM leader Keith Raniere's initials branded into their flesh.

Other notable members NXIVM included "Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun-Li" star Kristin Kreuk, "Battlestar Galactica" actresses Nicki Clyne and Grace Park, and wealthy Seagram's liquor heiress Clare Bronfman, who's been sentenced to six years and nine months in federal prison for crimes related to her leadership role in NXIVM.
