IKEA and Asus have partnered up to release gaming furniture

The unexpected collaboration will lead to a new line of affordable gaming furniture, which is expected to launch next year. However, IKEA might take a different approach, aesthetically speaking. The company said it sees gaming as "cross-demographic", so its furniture designs could blend in better with your decor than other gaming chairs and furniture. As well as "to help the many gamers (and their families) welcome gaming home through developing the new range of affordable and ergonomic gaming furniture and accessories, created to increase performance while also blend in beautifully to homes". If there is one company that could pull off such a monumental feat, it would be IKEA. "With the rapid growth of gaming market across the world and a fast growing number of people playing, IKEA is curious about how home furnishing could improve the gaming experience and life around it", said Ewa Rychert, Global Business Leader of Workspace, IKEA.

The new gaming furniture is being developed in the Ikea product development centre in China, Shanghai.

Ikea and ROG are working together to create furniture that brings "the comfort of gaming experience to a higher level".

It looks as though the pair are still ironing out the details of what's to come, claiming in the press release that "about 30 products" will hit the market in February 2021. "Together, we set out to help the many gamers (and their families) welcome gaming home through developing the new range of affordable and ergonomic gaming furniture and accessories, created to increase performance while also blend in beautifully to homes", IKEA said in a statement yesterday.

Asus ROG talks about IKEA helping it create "the flawless gaming space that is both comfortably functional and enables full immersion in games". Gamers have always dreamed of the ideal gaming space that is both comfortably functional and enables full immersion in games... "Gamers have always dreamed of the ideal gaming space that is both comfortably functional and enables full immersion in games", says Kris Huang, General Manager of ASUS Gaming Gear and Accessories Business Unit. This latest collaboration with the Republic of Gamers (aka ROG) promises to make your gaming furnishings more comfortable, ergonomic and affordable (allen key included).
