In a worrying trend, the district continues to register double digit fatalities as it reported 12 deaths on Monday, thus taking the total fatalities to 603. 9,161 cases of the coronavirus were detected across Karnataka on Saturday; the state has had 4,49,551 cases in total.

Out of 9,894 fresh cases reported on Sunday, 3,479 cases were from Bengaluru Urban alone.

It said that out of 99,203 active cases, 98,396 patients were in isolation at designated hospitals and are stable, while 807 were in ICU.

The Karnataka capital has reported 1,70,662 cases till Sunday, second to Delhi with 2,18,304 cases.

Bengaluru West has reported 2,881 active containment zones followed by Bommanahalli with 2,880; Bengaluru East has reported 2,111 active containment zones.

As of September 13 evening, cumulatively 4,59,445 COVID-19 positive cases have been confirmed in the state, which includes 7,265 deaths and 3,52,958 discharges, the Health department said in its bulletin.

Among other districts, Mysuru reported 677 new cases, followed by Dakshina Kannada (413), Davangere (325), Hassan (295), Bengaluru Rural (275) and Ballari (264).

Among discharges too, Bengaluru Urban tops the list with 1,27,132, followed by Ballari (21,728) and Mysuru (18,158).

There were as many as 67,955 tests done in the southern state on Sunday taking the total so far to 38 lakh, the department added.
