Headlined by Bobby Deol, Class Of '83 is set in 1983 Mumbai and is the story of a dedicated policeman turned police instructor, who trains a bunch of aspiring Mumbai Police candidates and forms a squad to take a down a gangster named Kalsekar.

Class of 83 starring Bobby Deol in the lead role is the latest film to join the list of movies to get an OTT release. "Sometimes, to maintain order, one needs to break the law", a character states.

Bollywood actor Bobby Deol was last seen in Yamla Pagla Deewana along with Sunny Deol and Dharmendra. Spotting young talent however aware of the red-tape that his own job is hindered by, Bobby's role puts together a covert taskforce that specialises in pulling off encounter killings. Class of '83 releases on Netflix on August 21, 2020. Made under the banner of Red Chillies Entertainment, Class of 83, showcases the tale of Mumbai Police back in the 80s when the crime rate in Bombay was at its peak.

After Betaal and Bard of Blood, this is the third film which is a collaboration between Netflix and Shah Rukh khan's Red Chillies Entertainment. The film also marks the digital debut of Deol and he is thrilled for the premiere.

Class of 83 additionally stars Annup Soni, Joy Sengupta, Ninad Mahajani, Vishwajeet Pradhan, Bhupendra Jadawat, Sameer Paranjape, Hitesh Bhojraj and Prithvik Pratap.

Vijay Singh's character has a past which adds to the backstory of this film.

The trailer raises some questions about the makers' approach towards police brutality, the most discussed topic in the world right now after the novel coronavirus. Netflix has released a couple of films recently including Raat Akeli Hai, Bulbbul and Choked to name a few.
