A Splinter Cell Anime Is Coming To Netflix

Players were immediately smitten with its intricate stealth gameplay, prompting consistent sequels until the series took a hiatus with the most recent instalment, 2013's Splinter Cell: Blacklist.

Splinter Cell is finally getting revived but not in the format we're used to.

After attaching himself to a film adaptation of Square Enix's Just Cause franchise and TV adaptation of IO Interactive's Hitman, Derek Kolstad is continuing his dive into the video game world with an anime adaptation of Splinter Cell at Netflix, according to Variety.

Kolstad wrote all three films in the John Wick franchise, starting with John Wick in 2014 followed by John Wick: Chapter 2 in 2017 and John Wick 3: Parabellum in 2019, and is set to pen the upcoming fourth installment.

Splinter Cell debuted in 2002 as part of Ubisoft's licensing deal with author Tom Clancy.

It's been reported that a new Splinter Cell anime adaptation is in the works for Netflix by John Wick creator Derek Kolstad.

Unfortunately, there are no other details about the show, including what it could possibly be about. Here's hoping the show actually delivers and helps tide over longtime fans until the next entry.

There's now no date set for the Splinter Cell animated Netflix show, but keep it locked to Dexerto for more news as it breaks.
