‘Ozark’ Renewed for Fourth and Final Season at Netflix

There is no word now on what the plot for season 4 will consist of.

There's no official release date for the final season yet but it will be interesting to see how long we have to wait between each set of seven episodes.

Series regulars Bateman, Laura Linney, Garner, Sofia Hublitz, Skylar Gaertner, Charlie Tahan and Lisa Emery will be back for the final season. The series has been one of the most popular shows on Netflix since it began its run and has also received a number of accolades.

"A super sized season means super sized problems for the Byrdes", Bateman said. Hopefully showrunner Chris Mundy will be constructing the narrative so that there's a meaningful twist or cliffhanger to close out the first batch of seven episodes, giving viewers something meaty to talk about during the hiatus. "It's been such a great adventure for all of us-both on screen and off-so we're thrilled to get the chance to bring it home in the most fulfilling way possible", Mundy said in a statement.

A part of me is so bummed the show is coming to an end but the other part of me is happy they're not going to just milk the show for all of its worth and keep it going when it's not creatively feasible to do so.

Netflix launched the series in July 2017. Bateman teased that the writers operated on the assumption that the show would run "three seasons, four seasons, five seasons, something like that". Cindy Holland, VP of Original Content at Netflix, had this to say.

Jason Bateman, Chris Mundy, Mark Williams, John Shiban, Patrick Markey and Bill Dubuque serve as executive producers on the series.

However, this will also be the final outing for the Byrde family as Netflix is making this the final season of the crime drama. It would probably not return until sometime in 2021 at the earliest, as studios are still sorting out how to resume production following the shutdown.
