Both smartphones have a unique speciality as Redmi 9C is the first smartphone to run MediaTek Helio G35 chipset, whereas Redmi 9A holds the distinction of being the first smartphone to be powered by the MediaTek Helio G25 chipset. The Redmi 9C will be hitting the Malaysian markets by the end of July. The phone comes in Midnight Grey, Sunrise Orange, and Twilight Blue colour options. The Redmi 9A and 9C come with other common features like dual SIM slot, 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS, USB-C, IR blaster and 3.5mm audio jack.

Redmi 9A specs, featuresRedmi 9A sports the same 6.53-inch HD+ LCD waterdrop as its beefier brother Redmi 9C. The phone is powered by the new octa-core MediaTek Helio G25 SoC, coupled with up to 3GB RAM and 32GB internal storage. Additional storage can be added via a micro SD card.

The Redmi 9A has a single rear camera of 13-megapixel and it lacks a fingerprint reader. The phone also supports AI face unlock. The Android 10 OS along with MIUI 11 comes preloaded on the Redmi 9A and Redmi 9C smartphones. The dot-drop notch screen produces an HD+ resolution of 720 x 1600 pixels and a 20:9 aspect ratio. It also happens to run MediaTek's latest Helio G35 SoC. The onboard storage is expandable via a microSD card (up to 512GB).

For imaging, it gets a 13MP f/2.2 main camera and 2MP f/2.4 portrait lens for depth effects. There's a 5-megapixel camera with f/2.2 aperture for selfies and video calling. Redmi 9C also includes a 5,000mAh battery with support for 10W fast charging.
