Forget the iPad Pro - Apple's cheapest iPad could get this huge upgrade

iPads are wonderful devices when you need to take notes, feel creative and want to scribble or drawn something or even just for consuming entertainment in the form of books and Netflix. According to the latest, the Silicon Valley tech giant is gearing up to launch two new iPad variants - a 10.8-inch iPad due launch later this year and an 8.5-inch iPad mini to be launched in early 2021. However, the 8.5-inch iPad mini will be a new model of the series, reports MacRumors. The upcoming 10.8-inch model will either be replacing the current 10.2-inch model or the 8.5 inch iPad mini which would be launched as iPad mini 6 and the 10.5 inch iPad Air. However, Apple would probably be skipping the 120Hz display.

In fact, the tablet would be comparable in size to the iPad Pro 11 or iPad Air 3, though in terms of specs and performance, and other design features, it would likely still be different from those Apple tablets. The current model, which was released early past year, has a 7.9-inch display.

The other iPad getting an upgrade in terms of screen size is the iPad mini which now sports a 7.9-inch display.

In general, I agree with the mindset that bigger means better, at least when it comes to screen size. If Apple can make those aesthetic changes, it should reduce the overall footprint of these slates. The iPad Pro is the most capable but it's very expensive and few people would benefit from its powerful components. That is, adding that amount to the price that the cheapest iPad Air available in the Apple store has right now, we are talking about a disbursement close to 900 euros.
