Arizona Cardinals rookie Jermiah Braswell arrested for allegedly driving into Lake Erie

Fox NFL analyst and former NFL player Mark Schlereth weighs in on the upcoming football season.

Put-in-Bay police are investigating after an Arizona Cardinals wide receiver crashed his Camaro into Lake Erie Saturday evening. Police said an orange Chevy Camaro was off the embankment and in the water when they arrived, and nobody else nearby was hurt. He told officers he was "stuck", and didn't know what happened.

Police in Put-in-Bay, Ohio, say witnesses reported that a vehicle moving very fast went off the road, off the embankment and into the lake.

"Police say officers noticed Braswell's speech was slurred and he was unable to explain how he ended up in the water".

According to a news release from Put-In-Bay Police, "As officers went into the water and approached the Camaro, they found the driver was still in the driver's seat trying to drive forward". He failed a breathalyzer but refused to submit to a chemical test that determines blood-alcohol content. Braswell was arrested and charged with OVI, or operating a vehicle while impaired.

He submitted to standardized field sobriety tests, after which he was arrested for driving under the influence, according to police.

Braswell played in 40 games and started 15 games at Youngstown State.

He signed as an undrafted free agent with the Cardinals.
