Google’s Pixel 4a release date may be delayed yet again

The Pixel 4a might be on the horizon, but the Pixel 3a is still a fantastic phone, and one you should consider if you can get it for a good price - like these deals from Amazon and B&H, which slash 30% off both variants of Google's baby Pixel. But the Pixel 5 is likely going to be delayed. The phones were praised for their cameras, but battery life and starting storage left something to be desired.

The novel coronavirus pandemic has forced companies in every industry to think on their feet and change their plans, and the technology industry wasn't spared.

Rumors of this year's Pixel 4a abound, but the device's release date is still up for question. The smartphone was earlier rumoured to be unveiled in June during the Android 11 Beta launch livestream. And at that point, Google might wait until 2021 to release it.

According to Prosser, Google's current plan is to announce the Pixel 4a on July 13th. The budget phone will come in "Just Black" and "Barely Blue" color options and won't support 5G. Google is ready to ship and the "decision is mostly based on market analysis".

Prosser shared a few details about the new phone.

A report by GSMArena said that the Google Pixel 4a will come with a Snapdragon 730 chipset paired with 4 GB of RAM. But Prosser says there's now no evidence of a larger, Pixel 4a XL model. This is the lowest price we've ever seen for the unlocked version of the Pixel 3a. He now resides in NY writing for BGR.
