Some are even asking that all guests of the Bellos at the birthday party should be quarantined while some are asking that they should be arrested.

Saturday, April 4, was Funke Akindele's husband's birthday and the celebrity couple chose to throw a house party that had quite a number of guests in attendance, including controversial Nigerian singer, Naira Marley, Funke's best friend, Eniola Badmus.

Daily Trust reports that the President Muhammadu Buhari-led federal government had last week ordered the total lockdown of FCT, Lagos and Ogun states to contain the spread of the coronavirus.

Prominent Nigerian actress Funke Akindele has been widely criticised for holding a party during the lockdown imposed to tackle coronavirus.

Touched by the opinions of Nigerians, the actress took to Instagram to apologise and explain what really happened before and during the birthday party.

"We saw police vehicles stormed her house".

The police later confirmed the arrest.

The state Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Bala Elkana, disclosed this in a statement on Sunday in Lagos.

He said: "The attention of state Police Command was drawn to a viral video showing a large number of persons mainly in the entertainment industry in an Estate, along Ajah, Ibeju-Lekki axis".

The statement stated that Funke Akindele was arrested for violating the restrictions order in Lagos.

According to Elkana, singer Azeez Fashola, also known as Naira Marley and JJC Skillz were among those seen at the party.

"Where the arrested person is found guilty, the person is liable to a fine of one Hundred Thousand Nara fine (N100,000.00) or one (1) month imprisonment or three (3) months Community service", it reads in part.
