Sources said all of them have been quarantined and people who could have come in contact with them are being traced. Thirty of these cases were found in Mumbai alone, two in Pune and one in Buldhana, a health official said. Sai Hospital Chembur is completely sealed and Saifee Hospital, Jaslok Hospital, Bhabha Hospital and Hinduja Hospital are partially affected due to exposure to COVID-19 patients. Locals said the area had turned subdued following the death. Abdul Hakim Hashmi, a resident, said containment zones had been marked, but since residents had small living small spaces there, they would step out occasionally. The doctor, working with Wockhart Hospital, had no foreign travel history but had travelled to Rajasthan in the first week of March. This brings the total to four from the area, excluding a conservancy worker, who also tested positive.

The doctor works as a surgeon in Wockhardt hospital, reports quoted a civic official as saying. "There is no need to panic but the lockdown should be strictly followed", Gaikwad said.

A total of 24,818 people are in home quarantine and 1828 people are in institutional quarantine. All the flats and 90 shops nearby have been sealed.

The patient is a 56-year-old man and is presently undergoing treatment at Sion hospital. He was reported positive only on Wednesday, nearly a week after he developed symptoms.

Vijay Worlikar, another resident of the area, said that it was likely that some people could have been fishing during low tide to get the daily quota for the house. Residents said they were anxious after the positive cases. A team of Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) is at the spot.
