106 new cases of coronavirus in Alberta, 2 new deaths

The North Zone added 11 newly confirmed cases of COVID-19 Saturday, according to the province's aggregate data website, bringing the Zone's total number of cases to 68.

Friday, it was revealed that two more cases have been confirmed at a retirement home across the street from McKenzie Towne. One death announced Friday was a woman in her 20s with no known pre-existing health conditions. The province said there are now 29 in hospital, with 13 of those in the ICU. Within the last 24 hours, 2,148 tests were completed. "Again, I am concerned", Hinshaw said.

The number of confirmed cases in the province increased by 106 to 1,181 cases. "Laboratory positivity rates remain consistent at two per cent.".

Revera says it is abiding by all of the regulations set out by Alberta Health in regard to long-term care facilities. It is believed that 133 of these cases are community acquired.

There have been 62,520 Albertans tested for COVID-19. So far, 174 people have recovered. As of Saturday, 93 cases have been confirmed at these facilities.
