OnePlus Pay mobile payment service is finally here to challenge Google Pay

OnePlus Pay is the company's entry into the mobile payments services but is now limited to China and exclusive to HydrogenOS, OxygenOs' distant cousin.

The news comes courtesy of an announcement made on the OnePlus BBS forums in China - Google Translate fails us a bit, but it looks like an official statement posted to the Hydrogen OS testing group.

OnePlus was pretty cryptic about its mobile payments system which was planned to launch at some point this year. Users can also double-press the power button to quickly access the OnePlus Pay.

The payment service now supports savings cards from Guangfa Bank, Minsheng Bank, and SPDB.

The vast majority of our readers are likely using OxygenOS, which is OnePlus' Android software solution in the rest of the world.

OnePlus is following in the footsteps of Samsung and Apple, and might soon launch a mobile wallet and digital payment service called OnePlus Pay. The NFC-based OnePlus Pay mobile payments service is now being rolled out in a phased manner and support for more OnePlus smartphones will be added moving forward.
