Vikings add former Titans wide receiver Tajae Sharpe

The Vikings made an addition to their offense on Wednesday by signing wide receiver Tajae Sharpe and they announced an addition to their defense as well. It'll be a one-year deal for the 25-year-old.

The Minnesota Vikings have a notable void to fill in the receiving corps after trading Stefon Diggs to the Buffalo Bills.

Adding Sharpe should create some competition in the Vikings' receiver group after the team traded Diggs to the Bills; he is the only receiver on the roster, other than Thielen, who has played more than a full season in the NFL.

Sharpe wasn't a huge factor during his time in Tennessee, catching just 25 passes for 329 yards and four touchdowns last season.

The 2016 fifth-rounder out of UMass had spent his entire four-year career with the Titans, including a rookie campaign where he hauled in 41 receptions for 522 yards. With Thielen missing almost two months with a hamstring injury in 2019, the discrepancy between Diggs (1,130 yards) and Thielen (418) and the Vikings' other receivers - Bisi Johnson (294 yards), Laquon Treadwell (184), Chad Beebe (70) and Alexander Hollins (46) - was noticeable. He returned as depth for the Titans over the last two seasons.
