Being the successor, the smartphone has many upgrades over the previous model.

For authentication, the Galaxy M21 has got a conventional rear-mounted fingerprint sensor. There is also up to 6GB of RAM over the maximum 4GB RAM option available on the Galaxy M20.

Compared to the original model, the new Galaxy M21 does not introduce too many changes in terms of design. The company has price the Galaxy M21 at ₹12,999 for the 4GB RAM/ 64GB storage variant.

Samsung has been on a spree on launching its new smartphones be it the premium Galaxy S series, Z series, A series and also the budget-constrained Galaxy M series. The smartphone will come in two colour options - Midnight Blue and Raven Black and will go sale starting March 23. The 4GB RAM variant has been launched for Rs 12,999.

The dual-SIM (Nano) Samsung Galaxy M21 runs Android 10 with One UI 2.0 on top and features a 6.4-inch full-HD+ (1080x2340 pixels) Infinity-U Super AMOLED display with a 19.5:9 aspect ratio and Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection. The selfie camera works with artificial intelligence (AI) based features and supports a preloaded Face Unlock option.

Other details of its datasheet are the inclusion of an eight-core and ten nanometers Exynos 9611 processor, added to 4 GB of RAM and 64 or 128 GB of UFS 2.1 storage, which can be expanded through a microSD card of up to 512 GB.

In terms of optics, the new Galaxy M21 comes with triple rear cameras featuring a 48MP primary camera accompanied by an 8MP ultra-wide-angle camera which offers a 123-degree field of view and a 5MP depth-sensing camera accompanied by a LED flash. The device offers 4G, VoLTE, 3G, WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS, and USB Type C as connectivity options.

There is a 64MP + 12MP + 12MP + ToF quad-camera system on the back of the phone. Other sensors on the phone include an accelerometer, ambient light, gyro, magnetometer, and a proximity sensor. A battery of this same capacity is found inside the Galaxy M21, although surprisingly it does not affect too much the thickness of the phone, which remains at 8.9 millimeters.
