A separate trade between the Dodgers and Red Sox was also announced Monday, with the Red Sox sending 2018 American League MVP Mookie Betts, 2012 AL Cy Young victor David Price and cash to Los Angeles for outfielder Alex Verdugo, shortstop Jeter Downs and catcher Connor Wong.

Dressed out in their new Dodger home-whites, Betts and Price discussed the excitement and circumstances surrounding the trade rumors.

The Dodgers introduced Betts and Price at a press conference Wednesday at Dodger Stadium.

For the first time as a Dodger, Betts was asked about potentially signing a contract extension.

"We've kind of talked through passing at the All-Star Game and as we played here", Betts said of his relationship with Bellinger midweek. "He won the MVP past year, so he's definitely going to put on a show, and I'll do my best to keep up with him".

After a few more days of negotiating, the Dodgers were able to complete the deal with the Red Sox, and then also a second trade with the Twins to acquire the hard-throwing Graterol for themselves.

In addition to sending Alex Verdugo, Jeter Downs and Connor Wong to Boston, the Dodgers also parted with Kenta Maeda as he was dealt to Minnesota along with prospect Jair Camargo and cash for Graterol, a familiar face in Luke Raley and a compensation draft pick.

"Right now, I just got here", Betts told reporters. I'm not really thinking about that.

The Dodgers clinched their seventh straight NL West title last season, finishing with a franchise-best 106-56 record before falling to eventual World Series champions the Washington Nationals in the Division Series.
