Trump to attend NASCAR's Daytona 500

United States stock auto racing series Nascar has announced a multi-year partnership with telco Verizon, designed in large part to improve the fan experience at its racetracks. "Gentleman, start your engines", has been a staple of races around the country and world for decades.

Daytona Beach International Airport said additional security measures will be in place at the airport due to the president's visit Sunday. "We look forward to another thrilling edition of "The Great American Race" as we kick-off the new NASCAR season".

Trump is the third sitting president to attend a race at Daytona, but only the second to attend the Daytona 500. Then-President George W. Bush attended in 2004. Trump is the first to be given an honorary role in pre-race ceremonies.

The president praised NASCAR and its fans while honoring champion driver Joey Logano in April of 2019.

Washington (CNN)President Donald Trump is expected to attend the Daytona 500 on Sunday, adding to his growing list of appearances at professional sports events over the last few months.

In preparation for Trump's visit, the U.S. Secret Service tweeted that a 30-mile no-drone zone will be enforced around the speedway on race day.

"I said, 'Mario, get me out of here". "All I want to do is just go home".
