Additional details weren't made available, and the nature of Hudson's tribute is seemingly being kept under wraps.

The NBA is preparing to honor Kobe Bryant in an important way during the next All-Star Game, and Jennifer Hudson is perhaps most of all. The public memorial for Kobe will take place on Monday, February 24., at the Staples Center, which is home to Los Angeles Lakers, the team where Kobe played throughout his National Basketball Association career.

The All-Star Game will begin at 8 PM EST (five o'clock in the west) on Sunday, February 16th.

. Hudson's performance will open the night ahead of player introductions at the United Center. Saturday will feature Queen Latifah performing Stevie Wonder's "Love's in Need of Love Today." with youth from Chicago. The city will also be represented prior to the Rising Stars game when the Chicago Children's Choir sings "The Star-Spangled Banner".

In the celebrity competition, two teams, comprised of players including Taylor Bennett, Quavo, Chance the Rapper, Jon Batiste, Common, and Jidenna, will vie for gold under the direction of Stephen A. Smith and Michael Wilbon.

Bryant, his 13-year-old daughter, Gianna, and seven others were killed in a helicopter crash January 26 in California.
