It's officially Galentine's Day, which means the ladies of Parks and Recreation are celebrating together.

Aubrey Plaza, Amy Poehler, Rashida Jones, and Kathryn Hahn all staged a mini-Parks & Rec reunion of sorts, with Plaza marking the occasion - one in which everyone, coincidentally or not, made a decision to go decidedly goth - on Instagram.

While everyone focuses on buying Valentine's Day gifts and flowers, women are plotting out their share of fun things to do on Galentine's Day.

The unofficial February 13 holiday celebrating female friendships was immortalized on the beloved NBC comedy when Poehler's character, Lesley Knope, first suggested it in season 2.

You might be asking yourself, what is Galentine's Day? "Ladies celebrating ladies", Lesley explained in the episode. "Every Feb. 13, my lady friends and I leave our husbands and our boyfriends at home, and we just come and kick it, breakfast-style".

Poehler also marked the momentous day - described in the show as "like Lilith Fair, minus the angst. Plus frittatas" - with a screen cap from the episode, proudly (and rightly) proclaiming Galentine's to be "only the best day of the year".

The premise of the holiday is that women forget about their husbands, boyfriends or significant others for the day - and exclusively focus on celebrating the women in their lives.

The political satire comedy series aired for seven seasons until 2015.
