Colin Kaepernick to Start Publishing Company Kaepernick Publishing, Release Memoir

The book will be released through his own company, Kaepernick Publishing.

Colin Kaepernick, who sparked a national debate when he protested against racial injustice by kneeling during the USA national anthem, will publish a memoir later this year, the former NFL quarterback announced on Thursday.

Kaepernick plans to write a memoir through his company, Kaepernick Publishing, and revealed some of what he learned in his fight against systemic oppression. "It controls who's loved, who's hated, who's degraded and who's celebrated".

Though nothing came of the ordeal, Kaepernick still trains five days per week in anticipation of an opportunity to rejoin the league. Why wasn't it earlier in my career? "So I not only wanted to give insight into what led me to protest through my memoir, I wanted to make sure I was able to retain the ownership over my story in the process". The story tells of the experiences that led to the act of protest that has inspired the world. "So I think there's a lot of interest around it, but time will tell when the book comes out".

The former quarterback popularized the gesture of kneeling during pre-game renditions of "The Star-Spangled Banner" in 2016 while a member of the San Francisco 49ers.

A handful of teams watched Kaepernick and at least one scout reportedly said he still maintained an elite level arm - the same arm that got the 49ers within one play of a Super Bowl victory during the 2012 season. I'm ready to go, I'm ready for a phone call, tryout, workout at any point in time. I'm still waiting on the owners and their partners to stop running from this situation. "To me, this is bigger than football and it would be selfish on my part to look the other way".

Kaepernick, 32, has been unable to find a team to play for ever since and many experts attribute his political activism, which triggered a movement that drew the ire of U.S. President Donald Trump, as the key reason teams are wary of signing him.
