Selena Gomez Will Launch Rare Beauty Collection at Sephora

"I've been working on this special project for two years.Follow @rarebeauty and become part of our handsome community. There's more to share AND I can't wait", she wrote in the caption, posting a sneak peak video to show a first look at the brand.

Singer, TV producer, and Instagram megastar Selena Gomez has announced her latest project: a brand new cosmetics line, which is slated to hit Sephora stores in North America in the not-too-distant future.

The 27-year-old singer wore a black leather motorcycle jacket over a plain yellow sweater along with faded blue jeans. "I want it to be a lifestyle", the "Let Me Get Me" singer confessed. I've stopped trying to be ideal, I just want to be me. "There's more to share AND I can't wait". You're not defined by a photo, a like, or a comment. It's time to stop comparing and to start embracing our own uniqueness.

Since Tuesday's announcement, the Rare Beauty Instagram page has already earned 1.1 million followers. We're interested to see if Gomez and Rare Beauty are able to shake up the beauty industry.

"Our mission is to shape conversations around beauty, self-acceptance, and mental health", reads the caption of the brand's first post. CEO Scott Friedman, the former head of NYX, told the publication that "We want to help people feel more authentically connected to one another and less alone in this world". "It's about how you see yourself".

According to the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, Rare Beauty has filed to sell goods including cosmetics, skincare, bath and body products, fragrance, hair accessories, beauty tools and makeup bags.

This mantra aligns with Gomez's personal mental health journey.

The actress expressed her desire for Rare Beauty to go beyond just being a brand. "You're hearing things that I had three years ago, and then you're hearing things that I just wrote last week. I had my reasons for each".
