Disney appears to be cracking down on Baby Yoda knockoffs

Earlier this week, The Mandalorian showrunner, Jon Favreau, tweeted out a photo of George Lucas holding the Child/Baby Yoda.

The toys were delayed because Disney attempted to keep the Baby Yoda reveal under wraps, causing a production delay.

Broken, the internet is after a photo of Baby Yoda and George Lucas surfaced on social media.

At the very least, the meeting between the Child and its maker served as somewhat of an olive branch for those conjecturing about a feud between Lucas and Disney following reports that the famed director was not in attendance at the premiere of the ill-received Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker. (I'm guessing Lucas led with "Baby Yoda, why are you not CGI?") Lucas isn't too busy these days since Disney bought his company; do you think we could get him to play the role of Baby Yoda's nanny in Season 2?

Over the past week, Disney has issued takedown notices to a number of Etsy sellers who had listings for unofficial Baby Yoda merchandise.

Baby Yoda here, being cute.

Is Baby Yoda the real Yoda?

However, that hasn't stopped those sellers from fulfilling their backlog of orders, or from selling further products that resemble Baby Yoda.

Baby Yoda is a character from The Mandalorian known as The Child.

However, according to The Verge, some sellers are continuing to sell their Baby Yoda plushes, but with vague terms including "The Baby Child" and "Baby Alien Plush Doll" and descriptions like "Is he an alien, a goblin?. his origins are unknown". Baby Yoda is not the real Yoda, in the sense that he is not a baby version of the character Yoda from the Star Wars series.
