Samsung Galaxy S11 will have 'Space Zoom' camera

Samsung have never really double-downed on cameras for their flagship Galaxy S-series smartphones. Samsung applied to trademark the phrase "Space Zoom" with the European Union Intellectual Property Office. Created to be included in future smartphones, the trademark relates to software created to help the camera zoom into high-quality images without losing quality, going beyond the lens' physical capabilities.

So, even the description of this patent proves our assumption, pretty much.

Jingdong.com, one of China's major e-commerce sites, said the Galaxy Fold sold out in just two seconds, and Samsung said on its Chinese blog that the smartphone stock was depleted just five minutes after its launch. The Hubble Space Telescope features an especially powerful camera. Samsung is using the codename to point at the excellent zoom on the Galaxy S11.

Samsung had also trademark something called "ISOCell Motion" recently.

Back in August, the South Korean tech giant announced the world's first 108MP camera sensor. Its intention is to make gesture functions possible, in a way. The source didn't provide any further information regarding the Galaxy S11. The handset are expected to launch in the first quarter of 2019, either in February or early March. The phone will nearly certainly launch in February or March, and will not be the only Galaxy S11-branded device.

The smartphone is expected to be powered by a Snapdragon 865 processor and would run Android 10 out of the box.
