Mills scores 31 to lead Spurs past Curry-less Warriors

Stephen Curry will miss at least three months for the ailing Warriors because of a broken left hand that required surgery, the toughest blow yet in an already hard season for struggling Golden State following five straight trips to the National Basketball Association finals.

Green's status for Saturday's game against the Hornets is unclear, and because of the team's outlook - 1-4 after Friday's loss with little expectation to challenge for a playoff berth - and injury situation, Warriors coach Steve Kerr said the team would take a conservative approach with Green.

Golden State's Draymond Green will miss the next few games with a torn ligament in his left index finger, another blow to the already depleted Warriors.

"I hurt my finger", Green said via ESPN.

The game was an indication of the uphill battle facing Golden State without Curry, who underwent surgery after breaking his left hand Wednesday against Phoenix. I couldn't really grip the ball, so we'll see. "It's pretty sore. I couldn't grip the ball the entire second quarter".

LaMarcus Aldridge added 22 points for the Spurs (4-1), who were coming off their first loss of the season a night earlier. The Warriors knew that at the start of the season they would be without Curry's field mate, Klay Thompson, who is recovering from an ACL injury.

"The one thing we won't do is run (Green) into the ground", Kerr said, per ESPN. "If he's banged up, we should make sure we take care of him".

Green played 34 minutes on Friday; He averaged 28.8 in the team's first five games.

"You just have to deal with it and move forward and it's a great opportunity for the young guys".

LeBron James faced the crowd and sidestepped his way up the floor after a punctuating three-pointer in overtime made possible by Danny Green's buzzer-beating three in regulation.

With so many injuries mounting, the Warriors may take it easy on the major injuries to Thompson and Curry to ensure that they're healthy next year and swallow the pill of a losing record this season. He understands how much our young players need it, and it has been fantastic.
