Texas player has ominous warning for Oklahoma’s Jalen Hurts

One prediction from ESPN's Bill Connelly notes a very high scoring affair.

The Texas Longhorns football program does own the all-time series edge in the Red River Rivalry over the Sooners.

It's never too late in the night for a commitment it seems.

With that in mind, here's everything you need for Sooners vs. Longhorns, including updated betting odds, trends, and our prediction.

The Sooners opened as 9.5-point favorites but are getting just 42 percent of all wagers on the spread. The Longhorns won the regular-season matchup last season, then Oklahoma won the rematch in the league title game for its fourth Big 12 title in a row and third College Football Playoff appearance.

Quarterback Josh Heupel #14 of the Oklahoma Sooners is at the center of a prayer huddle after defeating the Kansas State Wildcats 27-24 during the Big 12 Championship at Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City, Missouri. He has an FBS-best 231.3 passer efficiency rating, and he's piling on yards (1,523) and touchdowns (14) while completing 75.2 percent of his passes. They are also top five in passing and rushing yards this season.

He's quite familiar with storied rivalries, though, having played in the Iron Bowl between Alabama and Auburn.

Sam Ehlinger brings it in the Red River Rivalry.

The junior's running output hasn't been what Hurts' has been, but he's been just as effective throwing the ball, with 1,448 yards and 17 touchdowns with just two interceptions. He averages 20.5 carries per game in those meetings, which is more than the 10.2 carries he averages in 2019. Can the Longhorns rattle Hurts with a few turnovers and steal a possession or two? Look for Hurts to get off to a hot start and the Sooners take an early double-digit lead.

Last season, the Longhorns were a bit of an upstart, and the win vaulted them back into the forefront in college football. Trey Sermon and Rhamondre Stevenson have combined for 664 rushing yards and nine scores while CeeDee Lamb is the leading receiver with 18 catches for 439 yards and seven touchdowns.
