Czech police arrest 31 after Euro 2020 qualifier against England

Prague police arrested 31 football fans on Friday evening after violence erupted ahead of the Czech Republic vs England Euro 2020 qualifying match.

Expectation grew with Harry Kane's early spot-kick, only for Jakub Brabec to quickly bring the Czech Republic level and provide the platform for substitute Ondrasek to punish a ponderous England performance and seal a shock 2-1 win.

Ondrasek, who plays for Dallas in MLS, replaced Roma forward Patrik Schick after 65 minutes with the game level at 1-1 and the striker could barely believe he had scored the victor against the 2018 World Cup semi-finalists. Our performance was not good enough, it's as simple as that.

England were handed the flawless start when captain Harry Kane put them ahead from the penalty spot in the fifth minute after Lukas Masopust fouled Raheem Sterling but they were well below their best and slumped to a bitterly disappointing defeat. "We accept defeat and accept we have to be better than we were". "We didn't look any more solid without the ball and we were poor at using the ball in the first half". The goals we conceded were typical of the chances we gave away. "So, I think some of these things are for other people to deal with".

The USA winger has not started a Premier League game since August and the return to fitness of Hudson-Odoi has made his chances of selection more hard.

"Every away game in Europe is hard".

"He's got to do that week in, week out, day in, day out to prove he's as good if not better than those players we are talking about".

"We're still in a good position so there's no need to panic, but we've still got stuff to work on, as you could see tonight".
