Cain Velasquez signs with WWE, will wrestle Brock Lesnar in Saudi Arabia

It's official. During a Friday press conference at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, WWE officially announced Brock Lesnar vs. Cain Velasquez and Tyson Fury vs. Braun Strowman for WWE's Crown Jewel event on October 31 in Saudi Arabia.

Strowman added: "Tyson Fury is a bad dude, especially when you take into consideration what he has overcome".

However, Fury's demands for an apology quickly led to fighting words with Strowman.

The Saudi Arabia matches were confirmed by wrestler and WWE executive Triple H, who insisted the night would "bring the worlds of UFC, boxing and WWE together in a way that only the WWE can".

Fury and Wilder are expected to do battle for the WBC heavyweight championship in February 22 but only if the Mancunian can recover from the eye injury he sustained in his clash with Otto Wallin last month.

As first reported by MMA Junkie last week, Velasquez notified the UFC of his intention to withdraw from the U.S. Anti-Doping Agency testing pool, effectively retiring from MMA.

Former UFC heavyweight champion Cain Velasquez's next octagon appearance will have to wait, if it ever happens again. Velasquez has since walked away from MMA and entered the world of pro wrestling, which now leads to their rematch.
