It looks like Telltale Games is back from the dead

If you've been missing the Batman games by Telltale, it seems that you have some hope of playing them once again. Ottilie now works at mobile, social and browser game firm Galaxy Pest Control, which he founded in 2010, while Waddle founded Road Dawg Games in February 2018 having previously worked at physics specialist Havok, Microsoft and outsourcing outfit Virtuous. Both are fans of the games that Telltale had produced, and are now in the early stages of planning out development of upcoming projects.

In addition to The Wolf Among Us, which was scheduled to get a sequel, and Batman, the new Telltale also has full rights to original Telltale games like Puzzle Agent.

Ottilie also told Polygon that they plan to re-sell some of the old Telltale games - many of which have been delisted from digital stores - and try to continue making new ones. The status of other popular Telltale series such as The Walking Dead and Tales from the Borderlands aren't clear at this moment.

We don't know how much money LCG Entertainment spent acquiring Telltale's assets but we do know that Athlon Games was a partner in the deal and will handle distribution for Telltale Games moving forward. Many of them reunited at Skybound Games to finish The Walking Dead: The Final Season. Except this is a completely new company run by two new people who haven't had a hand in any of the previous Telltale endeavors.

Ottilie confirmed that "some workers from the original Telltale Games will be offered freelance roles, with full-time positions possible in the future". Ottilie did confirm that the Stranger Things license that Telltale had been working with before its closure had reverted to Netflix. Ottilie reckons that Telltale had a "viable business", but it was brought down by "market conditions" and "some scale choices" made by the studio's management.

"We will probably keep the concept of episodes but with different pacing", he told Polygon.

The piece makes reference to a press release that we are unable to find, but apparently this new Telltale Games will be based in Malibu with another office located in Corte Madera, CA.
