First Full Trailer for Greta Gerwig's New Adaptation of 'Little Women'

There's nothing little about the anticipation growing around Greta Gerwig's adaptation of Louisa May Alcott's coming-of-age classic.

The first trailer for writer and director Greta Gerwig's "Little Women" wastes no time in identifying the four sisters at the center of her adaptation of the Louisa May Alcott classic novel.

Saoirse Ronan and Timothée Chalamet star in Little Women.

Chris Cooper, Louis Garrel, Tracy Letts, James Norton and Bob Odenkirk co-star in the pic produced by Amy Pascal, Denise Di Novi and Robin Swicord. Her editor responds: "Make it short and spicy".

"Little Women" was big news around MA this past fall, with actors in period-appropriate attire popping up around the Back Bay area and Boston Common as well as prominent Boston spots like the Fairmont Copley Plaza and Arnold Arboretum.

Chalamet plays Ronan's on-screen love interest, while Dern takes on the role of the March sisters' mother, Mary. Ronan and Chalamet are close friends and experienced colleagues after working the 2018 awards circuit together for Ladybird.

"They were just people". "We've got ambition and talent as well as just beauty", Ronan's Jo says in the clip.

Jo has previously been played by Katharine Hepburn in 1933, and Winona Ryder in 1994.

Sony Pictures has set Little Women for a Christmas release, the tail end of Oscar season. Share. Interact with a worldwide community of film and TV fans on mobile, social and beyond.
