Taylor Swift shakes off Kardashian clan as highest-paid celebrity

The country-turned-pop megastar earned a staggering $185 million over the course of the past year to head up the 2019 Forbes' 100 Highest Paid Celebrities list.

Earlier this year Forbes declared Jenner to be the world's youngest billionaire. Billboard Boxscore reported that it broke the record for highest-grossing tour coming in at $266.1 million in gross sales, and that's just domestically. A deal with Netflix that brought the tour into fans' living room likely netted her millions.

This isn't the first time Swift has topped Forbes's list of highest-earning stars.

The US singer topped Forbes' Celebrity 100 after raking in £148 million over the previous year.

Thanks to the success and ever-expanding Marvel Cinematic Universe, the Avengers crew are all on the Forbes top 100 list of highest-paid celebrities.

Keeping Up With The Kardashians star and make-up mogul Jenner was hot on her heels with £136 million. She sold an estimated $360 million worth of Kylie Cosmetics, her company which she launched own her own.

For Jenner, it was a family affair, as her brother-in-law Kanye West followed closely in the No. 3 spot, earning $150 million.

The Forbes said that BTS take home big earnings thanks to its "Love Yourself, Speak Yourself" stadium tour, which encompassed three USA cities, Sao Paulo, London, and Paris this year. West receives a 15% royalty on the wholesale price of the shoes, plus a marketing fee, according to Forbes.

Other top women on the list include author JK Rowling with $92m (£74m) in number 13 and singer Beyoncé with $81m (£65m) in twentieth position.

The app reached No. 1 in app stores, which the Forbes notes "bodes well for the group's prospects for a Celebrity 100 return next year".
