Report names three 'fall-back options' if Arsenal fail to sign Zaha

The Gunners had a reported £40million bid for Crystal Palace winger Zaha rejected with The Sun saying Arsenal wanted to pay the fee over five years while asking for "a hefty discount" if they managed to reimburse the Eagles early.

The Mirror say Mohamed Elneny, Calum Chambers and Carl Jenkinson are all possible options.

Wilfried Zaha is one of the best wingers in the Premier League and the gunners lacked a clinical winger last season hence Arsenal trying to get the signature of the Ivorian global in this transfer window.

Arsenal have already seen a £40m offer for Zaha, who is now on worldwide duty at the Africa Cup of Nations, knocked backed.

Chambers and Elneny have been linked with Palace in the past while Jenkinson would offer them a replacement for Aaron Wan-Bissaka at right-back so fingers crossed they are open to this player plus cash deal as it would be an excellent piece of business if we could pull it off.

The report claims Arsenal are hoping Palace accept their bid because it would also see Manchester United get a smaller amount of cash.

Zaha has already been pushing for the move to the Emirates, with his brother insisting publicly the winger wants to join Arsenal.

When asked about his future earlier this month, the 26-year-old said: "The only thing that's on my mind right now is trying to win this cup".

"It is my brother's dream, though, to play for Arsenal".

Zaha, who is now away on global duty with Ivory Coast at the Africa Cup of Nations, has made Palace aware of his desire to leave.

"Given all that Wilfried has given to Crystal Palace to help them remain a Premier League club, I hope Palace will be able to see their way to agreeing a deal with Arsenal that allows Wilfried to realise his dream of playing European football for the club he's supported since childhood".
