New Lion King a 'game changer'

The premiere of Disney's live-action adaptation of The Lion King was held in Los Angeles on Tuesday. If these unbelievable looks don't get you excited for the Disney re-make, I don't know what will.

Disney also shared a picture of Beyonce and Nala, and confirmed the new album on their Instagram account.

In planning and recording the new album, Beyonce explained that the artists' personal connection to the film and its story was something she considered greatly. From Beyonce, Donald Glover, Seth Rogen and Eric Andre to Keegan Michael-Key and more, the trailers that have been shared on the road to the premiere has kept us intrigued and now, we finally have word on how the film has performed.

"[Jon Favreau and I] were on set together actually, and he took me to the side and said 'Hey.' And I thought he was gonna ask me to like sign something for his son or something because I heard his son was a fan. That's what you want'".

"And I really did think he was joking". In an odd way, the power of this new Lion King comes from the outside: you soak up its astonishing photoreal visuals and marvel at the extraordinary progress that can occur within a single generation, yet still ache for everything that's made way for it.

While the highly-anticipated movie doesn't hit cinemas until next week, the film has been screened for reviewers who have heaped praise on the ambitious project.

The collection is also a companion to the main "Lion King" soundtrack, which compromises mostly of songs from the animated film, along with a new number from Elton John and Tim Rice, who wrote the songs for the original.
