Sprint and T-Mobile are reportedly talking about merging, again

Shares of Sprint and T-Mobile were up over 6 percent following the news, as Wall Street analysts have always been a fan of a merger between the two companies.

What do you make of these latest merger talks between T-Mobile and Sprint? The newspaper said it's unclear what terms the two sides are considering. Will T-Mobile and Sprint finally exchange wedding vows? During the same quarter in the previous year, the company posted ($0.46) earnings per share. equities analysts expect that Sprint Corp will post -0.01 EPS for the current fiscal year.

Shares of Sprint rose 17.3 percent to $6.03, while T-Mobile shares were up 5.5 percent at $63.03.

Sprint Capital Corp. 8.75% notes due 2032 climbed as much as 9 cents to trade at 113.5 cents on the dollar Tuesday, the biggest jump since 2015, according to Trace bond price reporting data. However, the news is noteworthy considering the two companies have tried to merge several times over the course of the past several years. Who knows, the third time just might be the charm. While T-Mobile is comfortably in third place among USA carriers with more subscribers than Sprint, though, T-Mo would probably be interested in Sprint's spectrum.

Early merger negotiations between T-Mobile and Sprint have also been reported by Bloomberg, whose sources say that executives from SoftBank (Sprint's largest shareholder) and Sprint have had contact with Deutsche Telekom (T-Mobile's parent company) about a possible deal.

It was not immediately clear how the Trump administration would view the combination. Regulators blocked the deal saying that the two combined companies would dominate the media industry, providing less to consumers.

Following the report, Sprint shares are up more than 6 percent. "I think four competitors has benefited consumers".
