The company also announced the Xpress-on interchangeable covers for the Nokia 1 smartphone. The rear camera id 2MP and 1,500 mAh battery i.e. 25 days lasting.

Nokia has committed to Android One, so this is a pure and unsullied Android Oreo handset, with no added apps or services, apart from Nokia's app for controlling that camera setup.

While the rest of Nokia's new lineup goes with a milled aluminium approach, the Nokia 8 Sirocco goes a very different way for its construction. The phone has a 4.5-inch FWVGA (854 x 480 px) IPS display and has 1GB of RAM along with a quad-core MediaTek MT6797M processor. On the front is an 8MP selfie camera with f/2.o aperture. However, Microsoft sold the brand name to fellow Finnish firm HMD Global in 2016 for $350m, after writing $7.6bn off the value of the acquisition.

It's the second classic feature phone to be released by HMD Global after last year's Nokia 3310, which, the company says, proved to be a big hit worldwide, including in the South African market.

The Nokia 1 costs almost the same as the new Nokia 8110 4G, but it's less about nostalgia, and more about cramming as many features of a real Android phone into the cheapest possible body. It comes in three colors that pop - a black with copper accents, white with pink-ish accents, or blue with gold accents. It measures 140.93x72.97x7.5mm.

Nokia 1 has been announced at $85 (approximately Rs.5500), which is expected to launch in April 2018. Design leaks suggest that Samsung hasn't managed to place the fingerprint scanner beneath the home screen, although it seems to have shifted it to just below the camera instead. The Nokia 8 Sirocco is not fueled by the Snapdragon 845, it ships with the Snapdragon 835 instead, Qualcomm flagship processor for 2017. Now there are two on its back, a 12 megapixel f/1.75 wide-angle camera and a 13 megapixel f/2.6 telephoto. The 3,000mAh battery features USB-C fast charging. HMD's new smartphones portfolio includes Nokia 8 Sirocco, the most-powerful Android One smartphone launched so far. The smartphone will be priced at 399 Euro.

Historically HMD Global has priced their smartphones quite competitively in India. Nokia 8 will be coming with 6GB of RAM and 128 GB of internal memory. In the camera department, the Nokia 8 Sirocco sports 12MP + 13MP dual rear cameras and a 5MP single front camera.

Besides using an older display, the phone has a 5.5-inch QHD pOLED display in the older 16:9 aspect ratio. Of course, Android Oreo is on the agenda.

The phone will be Available from early April.
