Its been so successful that other film studios have sought to copy Marvel's method, whether its Warner Bros. and DC, Paramount's Transformers universe, the Godzilla/King Kong universe or Universal's (albeit failed) Dark Universe monster series. Today, Marvel has released a new video and image of everyone's favorite heroes celebrating this 10-year milestone with a class photo of sorts.

Almost $14 billion dollars later, Marvel is commemorating their first 10 years not only with the photo and behind-the-scenes video but with exclusive collectibles and events leading up to the May 4 release of Avengers: Infinity War.

Robert Downey Jr, Chris Evans, Tom Holland, Scarlett Johansson, Chris Pratt, Elizabeth Olsen, Chadwick Boseman, Mark Ruffalo, Zoe Saldana, Benedict Cumberbatch, Anthony Mackie, Gwyneth Paltrow and Paul Rudd are just some of the stars on show.

Considering the unprecedented enormity of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, the ambitious shared universe of films from the Disney-owned Marvel Studios, it's freakish to think back to the comparatively quaint movie endeavor with which it launched, 2008's original Iron Man.

Directors and producers involved included Taika Waititi, Stan Lee and Joss Whedon.

Marvel Studios has unveiled a supersized class photo celebrating May's upcoming tenth anniversary of Iron Man, the film that kicked off the Marvel Cinematic Universe and launched a multi-billion dollar franchise that has been leading up to this summer's Avengers: Infinity War. "Every person had been in one or all of my favourite films", said Hemsworth, who plays Thor.

The shoot took place in Atlanta on October 7 for what was purported to be an under-wraps event to mark the decade-long milestone (and no doubt it was a challenge making everyone's schedules work!). They also plan to run Marvel 10-Year Sweepstakes with contests on social media between February 8 to March 15 wielding winners each week of super fan prize packs like touring Marvel studios and going to the Avengers premiere. The weekly victor will receive the Ultimate Marvel Fan prize package, including a Marvel Studios' Captain Marvel set visit; Marvel Studios visit and tour; tickets to Marvel Studios' Avengers: Infinity War premiere; all transportation and lodging; and more. But the next 10 years will give us Black Panther, Captain Marvel, and hopefully, more Tessa Thompson.

In another 10 years, Marvel may need to rent out an airplane hanger to get everyone together.
