The country's second largest passenger auto manufacturer Hyundai Motor India (HMIL) on Wednesday launched its iconic premium compact - the new 2018 Elite i20 - priced between Rs 5.35 lakh and Rs 9.15 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). The Diesel version starts at Rs 6.73 lakh and goes way up to Rs 9.15 lakh.

Talking about the interior, the Hyundai Elite i20 facelift has been supported by Apple Car Play in 2018.

The 2018 Hyundai i20 facelift has the new diamond cut alloy wheels, and while the cabin is not changed a lot, some known differences from the previous version of the vehicle include a larger touchscreen panel as a part of the infotainment cluster. In the rear, big Tail Lamps and Telgate have also been given a new design. Moreover, the hatchback was also spied ahead of its official India debut proffering a closer look to the auto.

Mechanical changes on the auto will be limited to the addition of a new CVT automatic gearbox on the 1.2 liter Kappa VTVT petrol engine that makes 82 Bhp-115 Nm.

The new Elite i20 embodies Hyundai's Modern Premium offering for global customers. It has various safety features like dual airbags as standard feature.

The Asta variant reportedly features projector headlamps, rear bumper also gets a do-over with new black inserts and a revised tailgate.

On the inside, the vehicle comes with a new 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system that supports Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The former gets a 5-speed manual unit while the latter comes with a 6-speed manual gearbox. The Hyundai i20 continues with the 1.2-litre petrol engine with a five-speed manual transmission and 1.4-litre diesel engine with a six-speed manual transmission.
