Nintendo reveals the truth about Toad's head, puts internet into meltdown

Nintendo has finally confirmed that Toad's head is indeed his head - and not, as some had recklessly speculated, a hat - settling an issue that's been hotly debated for decades.

In a recent video interview, Super Mario Odyssey producer Yoshiaki Koizumi agreed to sit down and address some of the longstanding mysteries about the cult game - including whether or not Toad's head is a hat or, indeed, a head?

He said he didn't really expect this question to come up, but that Nintendo is considering whether they should revisit the design topic. Super Mario Run's peak happened in October when the game is understood to have reached approximately 21 million players, according to the data provided by Nintendo. Inevitably, the financial commitment to plumping your cash down on a new games console will be the root cause for many, but if you had the cash, would you still opt to not buy the Switch right now?

In case you are unaware, Mario Kart 8 was the most purchased game on the Wii U with 8.4 million copies sold. Frankly, we're baffled as to why people were even questioning this, but there we go. "I'm going to have to leave it to all of you to figure out exactly how that works out", he says.

"I would appreciate it if we could respect the privacy of those 3 at this time".

Super Mario Run continued building on its 200 million global downloads recorded in October, Nintendo revealed as part of its consolidated financial report for the final quarter of the calendar year 2017, i.e. the third quarter of its current fiscal year. "Maybe there's something inside." answered Koizumi. We'll have to get our hot Mushroom Kingdom gossip elsewhere, I guess.
